The three main characters in The Lost Hero are Jason Grace, Piper McLean, and Leo Valdes. All being demigods Jason the son of Jupiter is a leader figure among his friends and is looked to when things get tough, Jason is the powerhouse of the group and the one who most are fearful of being the son of the olympian king. Also the boyfriend of Piper McLean throughout the books. Piper McLean A demigod daughter of Aphrodite and Tristan McLean, a Cherokee movie star. She is Jason Graces girlfriend. She also has the rare gift of charmspeak, the ability to persuade anybody to do anything. She is 15 years ols, she has choppy brown hair that she cuts herself refusing to make it neat even tho she is a daughter of the goddess of love. Leo Valdes a demigod son of Hephaestus and Esperanza Valdez. At the begining of the book Leo claims to be best friends with Jason Grace even tho it was a trick of the “Mist”, he and Jason do become good friends as they get to know each other on their quests to save the world. He has a magical tool belt that will alow him to pull any tool that he can think of. Leo repaired the bronze dragon Festus. He can also create fire out of nothing and also being fireproof. Leo is like the third wheel of the group. He plays it off like he dosent mind and he makes jokes about it but really it hitts home with him as he looks for the right girl for him. I think a big theme in this story is friendship between them all as they. junet threw their quests. Whenever there is trouble they are always there for eachother or to help eachother threw a problem. whenever a hard obstacle comes up they figure out how to get over it together. What if Jason found out that he was their enemy, or something? He might come out of his amnesia and decide he hated Piper. He might have a girlfriend wherever he came from.
It doesn't matter, she decided, which kind of surprised her.
Jason always looked so anguished when he tried to remember things. Piper hated seeing him that way. She wanted to help him because she cared about him, even if that meant losing him. (chapter 27 paragraph 28-29)
Just like the choice Piper makes to erase her dad's memory. Piper shows her bravery in this passage. In both cases Piper is willing to risk her own happiness for those she loves. It's interesting though to think about how much it hurts Piper to see the people she loves suffer. This shows that even tho they lost their memories to start out they still became close friends and they will risk anything to have eachothers back.
